What's this all about?

I've been toying with the idea of starting this blog for some time. The theme, as you can probably infer from the name, is to write about my experiences with outdoor activities that help keep a person in good physical condition -- specifically people who have lived 50 or more years on this planet. It's mostly going to be a personal diary of my activities. Anyone who cares to stop by to read and comment will be welcomed to join the fun. I'm not a professional fitness expert but I keep an active fitness schedule in a vareity of activities. People tell me I help motivate them to get outdoors more -- whether it's walking, running, road biking, mountain biking, sea kayaking, rock climbing, geocaching, downhill skiing or cross-country skiing... whatever. The main point I want to make: Reaching adulthood is no reason to shut down your physical activity and let yourself go. I have had my share of physical challenges over the years (I may share more about those here as time goes by) and I firmly believe that if I can stay fit, anyone can stay fit. It's a choice each of us makes. More to come. Meanwhile, get out there and do something!
